Wilson D'Souza? [Oct. 10th, 2012|10:29 am]
A gathering of the trans-fabulous living in the UK

Does anyone have a phone number for Wilson D'Souza?

I'm in a situation where my GP is refusing to provide any assistance so I'm having to sort a lot on my own. I'm in email correspondence with Mr Yelland's secretary over surgery, and trying to find out the situation with funding. She's just asked me to contact him, saying he's with the "Southampton City Contracting Directorate" but putting that into Google gets me "No results found".

It seems like half of this is knowing who to contact, but it's a little frustrating not even knowing where to start!

I bloody hate it when medics make the patient do all the running around, as if *we* know the intricacies of the workings of the NHS. AAAAGH. I hope, when this is over, you complain to your local Patient Advice Liaison Service (PALS) about this GP. Actually - you could do that now, and say you need assistance contacting X person about Y issue, and your GP is being obstructive.

Anyway, I found this: http://www.southamptonhealth.nhs.uk/contact/ don't know if that might be a start?

Here's Southampton PALS's contact details: http://www.discoversouthampton.co.uk/directory.aspx?id=537

Yeah - some of them just don't seem to get that we don't have the same access to information they do (after they've worked damn hard to keep it that way!)

I hadn't heard of them so I'll give them a ring in the morning, thank you.
